EPQ Presentations

Your presentation

  • Your presentation is part of AO4, which is worth 20% of your total marks

  • Your presentation should last around 15 minutes

  • You will need to be prepared for around 10 minutes of questions after your presentation

  • You will need evidence of how you responded to the questions you were asked

  • What are the key issues you are going to cover in the presentation

Time: Approx - 1 minute

  • Talk about what research you conducted and how you did it

  • Discuss both primary and secondary research

Time: Approx - 2 minutes

Conclusions

Development/Discussion

  • What was the outcome of your project?

Time: Approx - 1 minute

  • How did you complete your project, including planning

  • What did you discover?

Time: Approx - 4 minutes

Evaluation

  • How do you feel about the final outcome?

  • What did you learn from doing the project, referring to skills you gained or honed?

  • What advice would you give about doing EPQ - ‘what I wish I’d known!’

Time: Need at least 2 minutes

Question time

  • This is your chance to respond to the interest you will have sparked in your audience

  • Give yourself about 10 minutes for this

  • Remember – you are the expert!

Delivering your presentation

  • Keep it visual - Avoid lots of text on screen

  • Try to maintain eye contact with your audience, when possible

  • Consider your body language - Standing up to deliver your presentation is best

  • Practice before delivering your final presentation

  • Consider your pace and tone when speaking

  • You are welcome to engage with your audience when presenting

  • Cue cards are helpful for prompting
