If you crave action packed adventure,you would love the Andes;it stretches over : Argentina,Venezuela,Chile,Bolivia,Peru,Ecuador and Columbia.It has a snow-capped summit.It ha s a amazing height of 6961 meters.This could really be called the back-bone of SouthAmerica.

what does the impressive Andes look like?

Above 6000 meters, the highest summit[peek]n is snow-covered all year;due to the icy temperatures. There are many dangers that mountaineers have to face to climb :gigantic glaciers-rivers of ice- unpredictable avalanches and biting blizzards. Even though the Andes is full of fold mountains ,there is also some volcanoes;erupting violently and posing a very big threat to climbers.The climate can suddenly change, depending on longitude and latitude also proximity to the sea.

how the Andes animals live!

Even though the Andes is very dangerous ,some unique animals can still live there :Chinchilla,Alpacas,llamas. Did you know that Llamas are very useful[to humans];their warm thick fur are used for clothes.Although they're very small;they can be good for carrying goods . While Guanaco graze on the foothills of the Andes ,elusive pumas hunt them in the dark. Also Guinea-pigs , are very small they are hunted for food, by humans,mammals and birds. Did you know that chinchillas are now classed as an endangered species! The Andes, where the Andes fox can be found, can easily be mistaken for a coyote. Fun Fact the Yak is the main source to humans in the Andes.

You might think that humans can't survive in the Andes but the Yak has helped them settle . The yak gives them meat and milk and they turn it into butter and cheese. Even though the yak is important but they have also adapted to make hot cereal which is made from the quinoa plant. Also the Andean people drink about 30-50 cups of this a day.While they have adapted to use new methods.Did you know that they use a fairly old method on potatoes called chino which freeze dries them.Corn is the main source of food but because it takes so long to grow they sometimes eat Guinea-pigs as well
