Stakeholders

Native American perspective.

Perspective 1

Historically...

Historically

It is wrong to have a Native American mascot in a school that is over 80% caucasian because in the past, Native Americans have been killed, and enslaved by the caucasion population, to the point of almost extinction.

Culturally...

Native Americans have been part of the team of American mascots for over a century, long enough that having a native american as a mascot has practically become culture.

Culturally

Ethicallly...

It is wrong to have a native american as a mascot even if you are trying to honor them because in the end we took their land, and dystroyed their population.

Ethically

Futuristically...

Futuristically

As our school becomes more diverse, there will be more objections to the mascot and more people that are going to be offended by the mascot. Changing it will not onlky be benefical nowm, but later as well.
