The prevalent themes of the story
The central figure of the tale is the woman who gave "Sapay Koma," her closest friend, a dog, everything. It was her friend for two years, and all she did was sell it. She sells it for the benefit of everyone rather than for her own benefit. She even takes a taste of the meat when it is ready to be eaten as a sign of respect for them. But God is aware of how painful and shameful it is for her to treat her cherished Koma in this way.
