Media Attention

It is quite obvious that Ramirez never knew what love was or meant. His parent treated him poorly and the person he looked up to the most was his killer/rapist uncle. Ramirez never gave a motive to the police however he did disclose that nothing mattered anymore and he didnt care what happened to him or others. Satanists such as Ramirez also belive that killing makes you powerful which could also influence him to kill. I also feel like Ramirez was desensitized to the though of hurting/Killing someone from a very young age, so much so that killing meant nothing to him. He says he blames noone for the way he ended up however I strongly belive that if Richard had caring parents and a stable childhood, all of his victims would be alive today.

-Seeing as he was a Satanist, he killed because it "made one a god"

-Decided that they didnt want the children to testify in fear of making them relive their trauma

-Born in Texas in 1960.

-He had abusive parents, an alcoholic father, which resulted in temporal lobe epilepsy

-Started drinking and smoking weed at 10yrs

-At 12yrs, his uncle would show him pictures of women he had murdered and killed from his time in the army.

-He later explained his lack of disgust for the images his uncle showed him, and that he was more fascinated by them

-He witnessed his uncle kill his aunt

-During his time in prison a woman named Doreen Lioy sent Richard 75 letters before he finally proposed to her in 1988

-They eventually seperated

-At the time of his death Ramirez was engaged to a 23 yr old

-He then moved in with his other uncle who was an obsessive "peeping tom"

and brought Richard along with him at night

-At the age of 14 he began using LSD frequently and showing interest in

-While still in school Richard took a job at a hotel where he used his

master key to rob and rape patrons

Investigation

-His employment ended when he was caught raping a woman by her husband

who beat him close to death afterwards

-He was careful to wear gloves and not leave any prints behind

-Footprint linked many of his crimes a men's Avia sneaker.

-He dropped out of school in grade 9

Death

-Police had stopped him while he was driving a stolen car, they found no prints, but they did find a dentist card

-Richard Ramirez never showed remorse

-He got in trouble for publicly masturbating in prison multiple times

-He kept practicing Satanism

-Refused many interviews talking about his crimes

-An undercover cop staked out the dentist

-Ramirez died in june 2013 in prison due to

complications related to B-cell lymphoma

-Aged 53 and had been on death row for 23 yrs

-A week later they replaced the cop with a buzzer that same day he came in but the buzzer malfunctioned

Manhunt

-A local shop owner said he saw ramirez look at himself in the newspaper and run

-Police had difficulty linking his crimes because he did not have a profile

-he then took a bus but when people started recognizing him he got out

-He attempted to rob a car by threatening the driver, her husband came out and beat him with a metal bar

sometimes he killed,raped or robbed his victims

-He ran down the street, people from the neighborhood chased and beat him down

-He told the police "Thank god you came"

-His victims were all diffrent age/sex/ethnicity

-His crimes were gruseome, random and satan related

-He travelled in stolen veichles and used the valuables

he would steal to support his drug addiction
