Tactical actions

Operationally, Russia has historically emphasized mass fire offensive strategies. The concentrated use of artillery and rocket artillery, along with large tank units, remains at the core of Russian military doctrine.

  • Putin tells West that Russia cannot be defeated
  • Russia suspends participation in New START nuclear arms treaty
  • Putin puts new strategic nuclear weapons on 'combat duty'
  • President says Russia will resume nuclear tests if U.S. does
  • Move is deeply unfortunate and irresponsible
  • Despite sanctions, Russia says its bid to forge ties with the West after the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union is now over and that it will develop ties with other powers such as China.

Cyberspace

U.S. Tasks

The Department seeks to preeempt, defeat, or deter malicious cyber activity targeting U.S. critical infrastructure that could cause a significant cyber incident regardless of whether that incident would impact DOD's warfighting readiness or capabilities

Russian Ops

Russia has regularly conducted cyber operations against U.S. and European "critical infrastructure," defined by the Department of Homeland Security as "physical and cyber systems and assets that are so vital to the U.S. that their incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on our physical or econmic security or public health or safety."

Nuclear & Cyberspace

Our primary role in this homeland defense mission is to defend forward by leveraging our focus outward to stop threats before they reach their targets

Number of nuclear weapons

U.S. leverages

Russia-5977(1588)

U.S.-5428(1644)

We have taken steps to predict and react to nuclear conflict betwwen Russsia and U.S. Employment of a very large number of warheads. At all times there are several missile submarines at sea ready to recieve orders to launch a devastating strike that Russia would be powerless to stop. We have several hundred fixed-silo intercontinental ballistic missles that would have would have Russia's attempts to destroy before impact extremly difficult. As well as a force of nearly 100 strategic bombers that could be place on alert status if needed.

If it comes to blows between the two countries it would take up to 5yrs for the radiation levels to return to "normal" levels.
