MISTAKES AND SOLUTIONS

IMPLEMENTATION TO REAL BUSINESS

Purpose of performance management

• To promote and improve employee effectiveness.

• A continuous process where managers and employees work together to plan and monitor.

• Review an employee's work objectives or goals and his or her overall contribution to the organization.

Steps Involved in Process of Performance Appraisal

1. Establish Performance Standards:

The managers determined outputs by set 30 surprise boxes sold in 4 weeks, accomplishments and skills evaluated.

2. Communicate Performance Expectations to Employees:

The feedback from the employees on the standards communicated to them obtained.

3. Measure Actual Performance:

The actual performance of the employee is measured on the basis of information available from various sources such as personal observation, business plan report, and final report.

4. Compare Actual Performance with Standards:

The total surprise boxes sold are 32, which is exceed than expected.

5. Discuss the Appraisal with the Employee:

The total boxes sold are quite good since the price affordable.

6. Initiate Corrective Action:

The improvement that we have to do is the quality of the box itself as it is fully handmade.

Mistakes and solutions to problems

  • The members did not know their role in product production

-Human Resources prepared the duty roster and divided into three group based on their residents.

  • The quality of product not same since it fully handmade

-Human Resources trained the members on how to make sure all products have same quality.

  • Lack of time management

-Human Resources placed the deadline for products, so that products ready a day before delivery made.

  • Lack of discipline

-Human Resources use the Progressive Discipline

LESSONS LEARNED FROM THIS PROJECT

  • to start up a business, a lot of patience and determination are needed
  • every members have to be responsible towards their given position in the 'company' to make the business more efficient
  • entrepreneurship also teaches us on how to deal with people
  • doing business allows us to create mistake but we need to find a solution to solve it
  • we also learned to manage our time better
