Plastic Factory
Present time
Eli- Loyal, brave, logical, good with technology
Tori- artist, smart
Amber- reckless, determined
Hector- passive in the beginning, sometimes a pushover, Malik's best friend
Malik- sometimes a bully, a good friend, a protector
In the beginning of the book, Eli and Randy go for a bike ride, where Eli gets sick right as they get out of town. Soon after that, Randy is sent to his grandparents farm house to work. Eli and Tori sneak into Randy's backyard after he has moved. They find a note from Randy saying that something 'screwy' was going on with the town. It also says that Randy was not at his grandparents but at a boarding school. The note led Eli, Tori, Malik, and Hector to the plastic factory, where they would need to break into in order to find out the truth about the town.
In the middle of the story, Eli, Tori, Malik, and Hector make the plan to break into the Plastic Works Factory, which they later successfully do. When they find out that they are clones they decide to make an escape plan to leave Serenity and the experiment. The first time they try to escape on their bikes they all get sick and can't go on. Mrs. Delaney finds them hiding under a rock and brings them home. They realize that there must be something causing the sickness, and if they want to escape they have to destroy it.
In the end of the book, Eli, Tori, Malik, Amber, and Hector escape Serenity. In the escape, Hector dies. They had to travel across the desert and hop on a train. After a long train and taxi ride, they eventually arrive in Pueblo. When they reach there they go to Randy's school to hide out, where they are safe. In the end, they came to realize that the town of 'Serenity' was nothing like the real world.
The main idea of the story is that Serenity, a town which appears to be perfect, with no crime, no hunger, and everyone getting along, may actually not be so perfect after all.
I enjoyed this book because it was full of action, mystery, and many twists in the plot. Each of the characters was a narrator in the story, which made it a interesting read. The ending left you in suspense and made you want to read the next book.
I would recommend this book to people that like action packed story lines and a good plot. I would also recommend this to people that like stories told in different perspectives that all have different points of view. If you don't like cliffhangers, then this book is not for you.
I would rate this book a 9/10 because I loved it and it had a interesting plot. The entire book kept me in suspense but it could get boring at times.
