The Early-Mid 19th Century
Early-Mid Industrial
- Women usually wore bonnets to symbolize modesty in and outside the home
- These were popular during the Victorian Era in the United Kingdom and America
Late 19th Century
Late Industrial
- After the Civil War and towards the later parts of the 1800s we saw a rise in the "Licoln hats" that showed prestige and made men look taller and more handsome than they actually were
World War I
- The "newsboy" caps seen in the picture became popular in the early 1900s and during World War I
- These were much more casual and more for the working class
World War II
- During the 1940s and in the years after the war, we saw the rise in stetson style hats for men
- Women wore smaller and less elaborate hats during this time

The 1980s
- The rise of rap and pushback against authority in the late 80s and early 90s saw a rise in bucket hats with crazy and eye popping designs

Modern Day
- Today, we have seen a rise in duck bill hats that are either curved or flat.
- These types of hats have moved from being dominated by baseball to becoming an everyday fashion item

1) He is a famous excentric hat maker who has made products for many actors and actresses on the red carpet
2) He was born in Ireland and has lived most of his life in the UK. Treacy admires the royal family and has made hats for them on multiple occasions.
3) He has a love for nature and that shines through in his designs. He also expects elegance and controlled chaos from all his designs.
