The movie "Jane Eyre" is directed by Robert Young.
It's set in the 19th century in Northern England.
The plot focuses on the story of Jane, a girl who struggles with her problems since her childhood.
The movie is about the coming of age story of Jane Eyre, a 10 years old orphan who lives at Gateshead hall with her aunt, Sarah Reed, and her three cousins: Eliza, Jhon and Georgiana.
One day Jane is sent the frightening room where her uncle died.
The next day, Mr Brocklehurst, the principal of Lowood school, visites Jane and the little girl is sent to his institute.
Despite the difficult conditions at Lowood, Jane prefers the school to life with the Reeds. Here she makes friends with Miss Temple, a kind teacher, and Helen Burns, a little girl.
After finishing school Jane starts teaching at Lowood but she wants to change her life.
She starts working as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she teaches a girl named Adèle. at Thornfield she meets Mr Rochester.
She soon finds out that Thornfield harbors a secret because during the night she hears a strange, manical laugh. She asks for explenations and they tell her that the noise comes from Grace Pool.
One night Jane saves Mr. Rochester from a fire, which he claimed was started by Grace Poole.
The protagonist begins to understand that they did not tell her the whole truth about Grace Pool because she is still working in the castle.
Mr. Rochester proposes to Jane and she accepts with enthusiasm but, on the wedding day, she discovers that he is already married to Bertha Mason. She has gone mad and she is kept hidden on the third floor of the castle.
Jane goes away from Thronfield
The River brothers host Jane and soon become her friends.
One day Jane finds out her aunt has died and she has inherited a vast fortune from her uncle. She also finds out that the Rivers simblings are her cousins.
One night Jane hears Mr. Rochester's voice and she decides to go back to him.
Jane discovers that Bertha Mason has burned to the ground Thornfiels, and she has died in the fire. Mr. Rochester saved the servants but lost his eyesight and one of his hands.
Jane goes to his new residence and they get married. Rochester will also regain sight on one eye and he will be able to see their first son.
Jane is the narrator and the protagonist of the movie. She learns progressively to be stronger and stronger, and she learns to speack out against the cruel treatment of her aunt and of her cousin.
At the end of the movie, Jane is a powerful and indipendent girl, who achieved all she had wished for.
Helen Burns is Jane's only friend at Lowood. She is honest, pios, loyal and compassionet. She is one of the first characters who will show love to Jane.
Mr. Rochester is the master of Thornfield and he is also the man whit who Jane will fall in love. He is mysterious, arrogant, troubled, aloof and intelligent. He rapresent forgiveness: Jane, forgives him and marries him after discovering that he is married to Bertha.
Bertha Mason is described as the violent and insane ex-wife of Rochester but she never talks in the movie. All we learn abouth Berthais either through Rochester's description or Jane's point of view.
Mrs. Reed is Jane's selfish aunt. Jane will live with her for the first period of her life. Mrs. Reed rapresents hypocriy and injustice.
In the movie, she often calls Jane "evil" and "godless".
