The Beginning

It all started when Joanne Kathleen Rowling was in Kingcross Station. The imagination started begin in her mind, and that was the start of Harry Potter. One of the most success series in the world's history, this book series has been translated into 68 and distributed in over 200 countries. Harry Potter is about a boy who has been singled out by the wizard world because he 'defeated' the dark lord, Voldemort.

This is very successful with 7 movies, 7 books and 1 script play.

Joanne Kathleen Rowling (More commonly known as J.K Rowling) is a world famous author with 500 million copies of her books sold. Joanne was born on the 31 July, 1965 in Yates, UK. She was surrounded by books. Rowling has always wanted to be a writer from an early age. Her first story was about a rabbit called Rabbit.

The Book Series

The book series is what started it all, the book series contains 7 books and 1 script play. All of the book series has won awards including some the companian books. These awards includes North East Book Award 1999, the Carneige Medal 2008 Longlist and the Edinburgh Award 2008.

Harry Potter

The Movies

On the 16 November, 2001, the first movie came out. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was a huge hit and grew into 7 movies until the last movie came out, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was the last movie in 2011. This movie series starred Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. This has made them famous ever since. All of the movies together costed 130 million USD
