British Traditions
Even though Britain is not part of the U.S the Christmas traditions are the same as they are here. They put up a Christmas tree like we do and hang stockings like we do.
SAINT NICK
In Britain they believe in Santa unlike my friend who doesn't believe in SANTA!!!!!! Anyway they still believe that Santa gives them gifts and fills their stockings.
The food in Britain isn't much different than it is here in the U.S. They eat the same food as we do.Except for the Yorkshire pudding which is not actually pudding, but small things that look like pie crusts that you can put anything you want in them.
Krampus
The legend is part of a centuries-old Christmas tradition in Britain, where Christmas celebrations begin in early December. Krampus was created as a counterpart to kindly St. Nicholas, who rewarded children with sweets. Krampus, in contrast, would swat "wicked" children and take them away to his lair.
IN Britan say Happy Christmas instead of saying Merry Christmas. They do say both, but Happy Christmas tends to predominate. Merry is a word which is not particularly commonly-used. It's reserved here mainly for a state of happy mild intoxication. Therefore the greeting 'Happy Christmas' actually makes more sense.
My buddy thinks Santa is not real BUT HE IS.
