Once known as South Wales, Austrailia before Imperialism contained wonderful widlife and nature. There were around 500 nations in the country and a population of 750,000 people. Austrailia has the worlds oldest living culture. Also, the people living in South Wales at this time were hunters and gatherers.

In 1786, the British government gave Arthur Phillip captian status and allowed him permission to start colonizing austrialia. On January 26, 1788, he led a group of Britain ships into the harbors of Austrialia which held convicts that would stay on the island. Despite lack of support and resources from Britian, Phillip was able to sucessfully settle the British in Australia.

Direct or Indirect?

Imperialism was direct in Austrailia because Britain had taken over the land and took away the power of the Native People. Also, Austriala followed Britain government at this time. In 1901, Austrialia started to follow their own government, resulting in a current indirect rule by Britian.

Resources Desired

Britain had many desired resources in Austrailia, leading to the colonization. These resources involve flax and timber. Also, they wanted to imperialize Austrailia to protext trade routes, and also gain land in that continent.

Conflict

The Australian people were very angry that Britain had come into their land and stripped the people of their freedom and culture, along with taken their already developed land. In addtion, the Castle Hill rebellion in 1804 was the first uprising of the Austrailin people, who were trying to regain the land and culture for South Wales. This was fought by the Irish Convicts in Austraila who were attemping to regain freedom and return to Ireland to fight for their country. Ultimately, this uprising was unsucessful.

The name "Canada" is belived to come form the Huron-Iroquois word "Kanata" meaning "village" or "settelment"

In 1871 half of the nations population was of British ancestry and about 1/3 was of French ancestry. However it was home of the "First Nations" peoples (Inuit and Métis) at least 14,000 years ago. Then the europeans begain the settle in the 16th century.

Starting in 1763 the Treaty of Pairs had France give Canada to England. Also after the defeat of the Nepoleonic Wars, Britain rose as a powerful navey also well is an imperial power. This allowed them to be able to take control and expand its holdings

In 1860, Britian had 6 colonies Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and Vancouver Island

In Canada the British Empire had direct rule over Canda due to the British governing and financing Canda. Also by the force of taking the courty due to the Pairs Treaty.

Canada in the food section supplied wheat, flour, eegs, bacon, a various of dairy products (cheese & evaporated milk)

Later on in 1867 Britian was having trouble with governing and financing their colonies. Plus the colonists were worried about the US attacking them, the problems with territorial expansion, and English and French speaking colonists not getting along.

In 1867 Britian was facing issues with governing and financing its colonies in Canada. Plus colonists were worried that the US might attack , and English and French speaking colonists struggled to get along. So England united its colonies Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, into the Dominion of Canada in 1867

In 1837 two rebellions were led in the Upper and Lower parts of Canada due to the lack of political reform. In the upper parts of Canada it was caused by the rejection of their political demands from London. This later linked to the depression of French Canadian farmers in the 1830's.
