Typically ages 0-7

Birth - 2 years

  • Hold their head up
  • Support themselves on their tummy
  • Rolls from their tummy to their back
  • Sitting up
  • Holding toys
  • Crawling
  • Pulls themselves up to a standing position
  • Walking
  • Drinking from a cup
  • Eating with a spoon
  • Helping mom/dad undress them

Birth - 2 Years

2 - 4 Years

  • Uses other utensils
  • Uses a twisting motion (to open doors, etc)
  • Climbs on/off furniture
  • Starts being able to run
  • Can throw and kick a ball
  • Goes up/down stairs with support

4 - 7 Years

4 - 7 Years

  • Running
  • Goes up/down stairs without support
  • Can skip and spin
  • Able to feed themselves
  • Able to use slides, swings, jungle gyms, etc. by themselves
  • Brush their teeth
  • Comb their hair
  • Tie their own shoes
  • Dress/undress themselves
  • Ride a bicycle
  • Can start playing sports
  • Can write/draw

Middle

Childhood

Middle Childhood

Typically ages 8 - 12

8 - 10 Years

  • Grows 2 - 3 inches each year
  • Causes growing pains
  • Gains 6 - 7 pounds each year
  • Adult teeth start pushing out the baby teeth

8 - 10 Years

10 - 12 Years

  • Will being going through puberty
  • Their bodies will start to put their extra weight in their chest, hips, and butt.

10 - 12 Years

Adolescence

Typically 13 - 18 years old

Adolescence

13 - 18 Years Old

  • Increased strength and speed
  • Builds up muscle
  • Reaches their "adult" height
  • Puberty increases
  • Girls: Their chest and butt size start to grow
  • Boys: Their voice deapens and they start to grow chest/facial hair
