Service in religions

Marisela, Michelle, Javier, Fernando

Why we choose this topic?

Why?

We choose this topic, because it inspire us the language of love and service. Every human being can help others, no matter the religion, race, or way of life. We had experience a great pleasure and happiness when we help others and we want to share it with you.

What is community service?

Community service is a way of helping others without something in exchange, is something that you do from the bottom of your heart, to share you happiness and love.

SERVICE

CONNECTION BETWEEN RELIGION/SPIRITUALITY AND SERVICE

What motivates religious individuals to volunteer at a community food bank, or to care for the sick or to build houses and schools for neighbors in their community and across the world?

CONNECTION

Churches, synagogues and mosques are places that encourage volunteerism, expose individuals to religious and secular opportunities for service and create social bonds that make it likely individuals will respond to requests to volunteer.

And those ties can extend beyond sanctuaries.

A study by Stephen Merino of the University of Texas-Pan American found that, “regardless of whether individuals are religious or not, having ties to people highly active in a congregation increases the likelihood of being encouraged to volunteer.”

How christians serve

Christianity

Christian giving originates from the beginnings of Christianity where early Christians shared with each other and the larger community. Other concepts of charity are based on Judaism through the teachings of the Old Testament and through the life of Jesus based on the teachings in the New Testament. Christianity historically developed charitable institutions such as schools, hospitals, and social service agencies that remain strong pillars in today’s communities.

SERVICE

How hindis serve

Hinduism is in grave danger of losing its core values, vitality and identity. It is partly caused by indifference and lack of proper knowledge on the part of many who practice it. More than 600 million Hindus not only live in abject poverty but complete ignorance of their religion. According to a recent survey, they constitute the poorest of the world. It is where maximum conversions happen.

Hinduism

Every Hindu, who is committed to his faith, should feel concerned about what is going on with in Hindu community today. Hinduism is fast becoming a religion of empty rituals, festivities, pilgrimages and temple traditions.

SERVICE

How Buddhist serve

Buddhism

The Buddhists have a required action called Dana (giving). This concept includes giving, sharing, and selfless giving without anticipation of return or benefit to the giver. There is also sweat Dana, where the giver can donate time and effort such as working in a soup kitchen or on a construction project.

SERVICE

How atheist serve?

Atheist

This is what the scientific facts show, the researchers affirm: the human being, in reality, is naturally cooperative, altruistic and social. No matter the religion, race, or citizenship, every person wants to help others, its inside of us.

Not all of us can do great things for others, but we can do small things with great love.
