Types of Boundaries

North America

North America has a lot of borders including...

Mexico-U.S. Border

As shown, the mexican border is big and spans across 4 differnt states in the U.S. It has a lot of graffiti on it and is heavily protected. This is an example of a Consequent Boundary.

Canada-U.S

The border between the U.S. and Canada is less protected and easier to go through than Mexico's because some people from Mexico are trying to move illegal drugs into North America. This border is a type of Subsequent Boundary.

BOUNDARIES!

Boundaries are everywhere! They are what divides our states into the states they are today. But there are different boundaries that I am here to tell you about.

In conclusion, boundaries are importnant and are used all over the world. Even though there may be boundaries people are all the same even if they are across the world.

Europe also has a lot of boundaries but these are some of them.

The Berlin Wall:

The Berlin Wall was a exixsting boundary between germany and berlin but now doesn't exist. They were no longer isolated. This is a Relict Boundary.

Borneo- Malaysia Border

This is a border that is in between Malaysia and Indonesia and was formed before human civilization. This is a Antecedent Boundary.

Papua New Guinea- New Guinea Boundary

The New Guinea Boundary is an island in Indonesia that is divided into 2, Papua New Guinea and New Guinea

Types:

Consequent: The line that concides with some cultural divide including religion.

Antecedent: A political boundary that existed before cultural landscapes emerged and stayed in a place while people moved.

Superimposed:A boundary that is imposed on the cultural landscape which ignores pre- existing cultural patterns.

Relic: Is a former boundary that is still discernable and maked by a cultural landscape.

Subsequent: A political boundary that has ceased to function but the imprint is till detected in the cultural landscape.

Enclaves and Exclaves

Enclave: An enclave is if a portion of one's state is in another state.

Exclave: An exclave is when you are the state that has the other's state within your borders.
