The WasteShark is an autonomous surface vessel (ASV), that helps reduce ocean and river pollution.
It's design was based off of the world's largest fish, the whale shark, and was invented by RanMarine Technology.
As I'd mentioned in the previous slide, the WasteShark is able to collect plastic waste found on the surface of the water (capable of collecting up to 500kg of debris per day!), alongside floating biomasses, such as algae, duckweed and plants. What's more, it can also collect data regarding the quality of the water it's cleaning.
The WasteShark is easy to operate, and due to it's small size (compared to other waste collecting devices), allows it to navigate small waterways and tight spaces with ease. It's also easy to transport, has a low cost and produces 0 carbon emissions!
Other than removing waste from bodies of water, the WasteShark operates on batteries, that can be easily charged from its grid.
This allows you to collect waste and to not produce any carbon emissions as you do so.
