Clinical Psychologists are specialists that provide mental and behavioral treatment for individuals of all races, ethnicity, gender, sex, and religion. These clinicians use interventions, assessments, and theories to customize treatment plans that fit patients' unique needs.

Education Requirements

Clinical Psychologists are required to be licensed by the state where they desire to practice. Educational requirements to become licensed are:

For students who do not hold a master's degree related to Psychology the admission requirements are the following:

  • GPA: 3.70

  • Statement of purpose 2-3 pages long
  • 2-3 psychology-related research experiences
  • Three strong recommendation letters
  • Complete the PSYCAS application

  • DePaul's Clinical Psychology Program is 5 to 6 years long.

  • DePaul University's Clinical Psychology program is based on a quarter system. Students are expected to be enrolled in 4 courses every quarter.

2. Earn a total of at least 1,500 hours of Postdoctoral Supervised experience.

3. Complete and pass the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) which costs $600 for registration.

4. Complete and pass the PSI exam which has a total cost of $85.

5. Complete and pass an oral examination.
