THE SELF-HEATING BLACKTOP 2000

BY:SUMAYYA

Are you the kind of person who just wants to go inside/outside the of school and return to your location without any injuries? Well, if so this creation is just for you!

Hello Leaders Of The Pack!

Thank you for having me here today. My name is Sumayya Khan. And today I am here to present to you my latest invention, The Self-Heating Blacktop 2000.

Why Do We Need This Invention At Our School?

Well, during recess I've noticed that in the Winter, on the blacktop it was really hard to get around, people are slipping, getting injures and more. The other problem with the blacktop, is that when your coming inside/outside of the school, and theirs ice all over the blacktop. Which is clearly not helpful, because that means we have to walk slowly across the blacktop which cuts a lot of time from our learning. And if we run across the blacktop we'll get injured, which we don't want to happen.

What's The Solution?

My creation will help improve electricity use, and will also help kids especially from getting hurt on the blacktop, by using a type of renewable energy, called Solar energy. Solar energy comes from the sun, and in this case it's transformed into heat energy, to melt the ice on the blacktop. I also added an extra element to this invention, and it's also powered by Solar energy, it's a conveyor belt. So if your already injured and your having trouble getting across the blacktop, you can just get on the conveyor belt and it'll get you right across.

What Inspired Me?

I was inspired to create this because I know some people who got injured, and I even know some people who got seriously injured, and got a concussion or broke a bone. Just because they slipped on the ice. And I don't want anybody else experiencing it too.

What's My Prototype? And How Does It Work?

My prototype is the Self-Heating Blacktop 2000. And how it works is, the propellers underneath the the surface are powered by the solar panels that are on a pole, on the surface. So for example if there's ice on the blacktop, you just turn on the switch for the propellers, and their you go, you get a heated blacktop, and all the water go's in the gutters. And also there's a conveyor belt on the surface, which is also using solar energy, but converted into kinetic energy. And if there's lightning, the conveyor belt is made out of rubber, which is an insulator, so it won't get damaged. And last but not least we have the poles. On the poles we have the light bulbs, solar panels, and buzzers. The light bulbs and the buzzers are both powered by the solar panels. So the solar panels store the suns energy and then we use it to light up the light bulbs at night, so basically the solar energy transforms into light energy at night. And the buzzers are for security purposes, for when an intruder comes on school property, then the buzzers will go off to alert authority's.

My Data

I surveyed my peers and asked them the following question: Would you want to slip and fall and end up having a concussion or an injury that could effect your ability to come to school and learn?

And after analyzing the data I collected, I can conclude that 92% of the people don't want to slip and fall and end up have a concussion or an injury.

The percentage of the people who do and do not want to slip and fall and end up having a concussion or an injury:

The benefits And Advantages My Product Will Provide VDPS

I have worked extremely hard on this project. Here are the benefits and advantages my prototype will provide VDPS, and why I think you should invest in my product: The first reason is, this prototype benefits not only the students, but also the teachers and the principles at Viola Desmond. And second, if you invest in my product the students education at Viola Desmond won't be suffering as much. The third reason is, the number of people falling and getting injures at Viola Desmond will decrease. Fourth, if you invest in my product you get security+solar powered light poles. The fifth reason is, you won't have to pay so much for your bills, because my whole prototype runs on solar energy. And last but not least we're using renewable energy! So we're not harming the environment.

4 Transformations

What Do I Need From The Wolves?

In order to take this to the next level, I need you guys to invest in my product, so we can prevent people from getting any injures. And make my product better, and more efficient to use. And also getting my product used in the real world.
