Parts of the plant cell

Functions of each part

Plant cell labled

Excluding Amyloplast, Peroxisome, and Nucleolus

Parts of the cell

Cell wall: The cell wall helps plant cells keep their square shape. It gives additional protection to cells. Plant cells have a cell wall and animal cells do not.

Vacuole: They store materials.

Cell membrane: Controls what comes in and what goes out of the cell

Cell wall, Vacuole, Cell membrane, Nucleus.

Nucleus: It stores the DNA and protects it.

Cytoplasm:

It surrounds all of the internal cell structures and can be found inside prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

Mitochondria:

Provides energy for the cell through cellular respiration so we call it the powerhouse organelle.

Cytoplasm, Mitochondira, Chloroplast, and Ribosome.

Chloroplast:

They make glucose through the process of photosynthesis.

Ribosomes:

Makes proteins for the cell (Protein synthesis)

Golgi Body:

Receives materials from the Rough ER, sorts, modifies, and packages materials into vesicles, and then ships them throughout the cell.

Rough ER:

Involved in making proteins and transporting them to the golgi body. Has ribosomes attached to to it.

Golgi body, Rough er, Smooth er, and why a cell is a system.

Smooth ER:

Detoxifies the cells, and makes lipids (fats) for the cell

A cell is considered a system because

it has many complex parts. It uses them and they work together. Plant cells use their complex parts to perform photosynthesis. they also build up the plant. That is why it is a system.
