When the first offer came in from the Charlotte Hornets, Michael declined it because he would not have full ownership of the team. A few years later another offer came in from the Charlotte Hornets and he accepted it this time being named co-owner of the Charlotte Hornets. Accepting this job he became the first African-American to own a professional sports team. He now plays a big role in the Charlotte Hornets organization and their uniforms have the Jordan brand logo on them. He tries not to stay court side because he does not want the Hornets organization to be known as the “Jordan team.” Michael Jordan is still a co-owner of the team and he makes many important decisions which help the team to be successful.
