Day 29
We will be traveling from Sarria to Portomarin
The hike will be 23.1 km, which is 13.1 miles. It takes about 4 1/2 hours to walk.
Along the way, we stopped at a couple of places:
The halfway point of our hike is Ferrerios. We will stop to eat and get water at Albergue-Restaurante Casa Cruceiro de Ferreiros. We also stopped to see the Iglesia de Santa María de Ferreiros. We had a fun experience in Ferrerios!
At the Albergue-Restaurante I ate steak, Valeria ate chorizo, and Wyatt ate potato tortilla. For dessert we all had a slice of tarta de santiago. The food was delicious!
Each of us have had close encounters on the journey.
I personally have gone through a lot, I sprained my ankle early in the trip and falling down at least every 30 minutes is not helping. I have bruises on my hips and on my back. I have blisters on my feet.
I am okay. I fell early on and got a few scratches and also lost my passport. I also fell into poison ivy and I am having a major reaction! I have many blisters on my feet and it hurts a ton.
Overall, my experience was okay. I had some blistered feet, a cold, and a migraine. When we slept in the tent, I got hit in the head with Valeria's crutch because I was snoring. Other than that, I felt pretty good for trekking on a muddy road for a day.
We've finally arrived in Portomarin!
We are tired and hungry, but were happy we made it.
The hostel we will be staying at is called the Hostel Meson do Loyo
We eat at the O Biscato Do Mercado in Portomarin. We all got prawns and tiramisu for dessert. It was great food especially after a long hike!
