The Edenic

Covenant

Created by Sophie Pearce

What is a covenant?

A covenant is an agreement between God and an important person. If they obey 'God', they would be granted otherwise there will be a consequence.

Who is the main character

in your covenant?

My prediction is that the main character is Eve. Although Adam has a large role in this story, I think Eve is the main character because she was the one who was tempted to eat the apple and get them banished from the Garden of Eden and that is why she is the main character.

The special relationship between God and your chosen character through the covenant…

The special relationship between God and Eve was, at the beginning of the story, they had trust in each other, but after Eve betrayed God and ate the apple from the tree of life, he didn’t trust her anymore and banished them from the Garden of Eve.

Who is the main character in your covenant?

I chose the Edenic covenant, and I believe that the main character is Eve. Although Adam has a large role in this story, I think Eve is the main character because she was the one who was tempted to eat the apple and got them banished from the Garden of Eden.

How and where did your character experience God?

How and where did your character experience God?

Adam and Eve experienced God when they were being created in the Garden of Eden and when God called to them declaring the rules of what they can and cannot do. Because we weren’t there at the time to experience it, one can assume God approached Adam and Eve from Heaven.

What challenges did your character face and how was their faith tested?

Adam and Eve were both created in the image of God and they were declared marriage mates, so when Eve was tempted by the serpent to eat the apple that was on the tree of life, which God specifically told them not to do, they both had to suffer the consequences.

What lesson can we learn from this covenant today?

The lesson is that God is all powerful and he won't go back on his word. When God set the rule not to eat from the tree, he was testing his first creations trust to see what they were like as they were created to be alike him. God has conditional and unconditional covenants with very important people and if they make an agreement, it will stay like that until it breaks. We learn to always trust and follow God as he is mighty and takes control over us.

Was your covenant conditional or unconditional?

In my opinion, the Edenic covenant is unconditional because God made a promise with Adam and Eve saying that they must not eat from the tree of life otherwise they will be evicted. Eve disobeyed God and ate from the tree, and because of that God followed up on his agreement and banished them. An unconditional covenant is an agreement with no ‘ifs’ attached so whatever is said must be done.

Why did your covenant begin?

From my side of the story, Adam and Eve began because it is the story of creation and it is telling us how everything first started. It's also teaching us that god is all powerful and will do what’s right, but if you disobey him he will set a punishment.

The 6 diffrent parts of your covenant?

The six different parts to a covenant are the parties, the promises, the conditions, the duration, the sign, and the dedication. My opinion is that the most powerful part of my choses covenant is ‘The Conditions’ because God clearly made a condition to Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree, but they did the opposite.

The 6 parts connected to the Edenic covenant

The six parts connected to my covenant would be the parties were God, Adam and Eve; the promises were that they could stay in the garden if they don’t eat from the tree of life; the conditions where they were to obey God; the duration was one month which taught them if wasn’t long enough and eve was tempted too quickly by Satan; the sign was the apple; and the dedication was Adam trying not to leave the Garden of Eden.

What challenges did your character face and how was their faith tested?

Adam and Eve were both created in the image of God and they were declared marriage mates, so when Eve was tempted by the serpent to eat the apple that was on the tree of life, which God specifically told them not to do, they both had to suffer the consequences.

What Is the importance of this covenant to the Jewish people?

The Jewish people Gods followers. Adam and Eve were Gods people and they Eve chose to eat the apple which was against what God told her to do, therefore she betrayed his trust and got banished from the garden. If Eve had not eaten the apple might still be living in peace and harmony.
