Main Idea

Gregs Friend Rowley Gets a girlfriend and Greg has to go out and find himself a new friend or get Rowley back.

In the beginning of the story, Abigail became Rowley's girlfriend which made Rowley and Greg's friendship disapear. Gregs best and pretty much only friend was Rowley so he was kind of left out all by himself. Also, for a bad start there is a group of kids that live in that woods called the mingo kids. He has to pass them every morning on his way to school. Shortly after, the school makes these things called hero points. Basically, you could get them if you are nice to a kid and you can trade them out for extra recces, but the kids ruined that whole system because thay were making identical fake copies. They became so popular, you could by 100 of them for only 25 cents!

In the middle of the story, Greg decides to try to become friends with this wierd kid names Fregly. Fregely starts to get popular without Greg because he can chew gum with his bellybutton so now all the boys are treating him like a hero. Later, Gregs relatives come over for easter. He tries to sell his art to them to make money like he did when he was younger but they did not by his art. When Manny drew art, they were all over him, all he was doing was a single scribble on each paper and he was making a fortune. Also, aunt Gretchen left all of her pets, and her crazy two children for Gregs family to take care of for an entire week! Later they relize the Meemaw's weeding ring was missing. That turned all of the relatives against eachother. The relatives looked in a photo album and they see a picture with Meemaw in here ring while putting items in an easter egg, and in the next picture her ring is gone. Now everyone was looking for easter eggs.

The end of the story starts when Greg finds a magic 8 ball under Rodrick's bed. He starts using it to make all of the small decisions in life. Also, Greg found out that mom had a closet that had his old body blanket that happend to go missing. He wears it to school and brings his magic 8 ball to help him answer the questions on his geography test. The teacher chatches him when he dropped it and broke it, then he left it at his grandma' s house. Also, he realizes that he has to do a science project on Saturn that is due soon, but he did not do it. He goes back behind the school and tells these older kids his problem. They told him they could help him. They walked into an old abondoned storage area that was filled with old school projects that people could by. Greg gets a bad feeling about going down that path even though the project was due the next day. Greg gets to work and stays up till 11:30 and finally finishes. Lastly, Greg becomes a school phatographer for the yearbook. Greg miserably ends up having to take a picture of Rowley and Abagail because they were voted as the cutest couple. Shortly after, Abagail breaks up with Rowley and goes back to here old boyfriend. It turns out that the only reason Abagail met up with Rolwey was that she wanted to make her old boyfriend jelous. So now, Rowley and Greg were friends again. On the way home from, school, Greg decides to look in grandma's yard for the 8 ball. He not only find the ball, but the easter egg with the ring inside of it.

Problem

One of the main problems is that Rowley gets a girlfriend and Greg is left with no friends.

Solution

The sad solution is that Rowleys grilfriend Abigail broke up with him and then met up with her older boyfriend.

Reccomendations

I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes funny school humor.
