Appearance of the Risen Lord
Remember the recounts of how Jesus appeared prior to this.
This is an account of the third post resurrection appearance of Jesus on the shore of the sea of Galilee.

Important
An angel had already promised that Jesus would meet his disciples in Galillee (Matt. 28:7).

Important
The Sea of Tiberias is another name for the Sea of Galilee (John 6:1).

It was significant evidence that Jesus manifest Himself in a different location and at a later time ( Acts 1:3).
Observations
The printed text provides reassurance to those who have experienced dissappointment.
It also provides preparation for the future.

Part 1
I. THE FISHERMEN ON THE SEA (21:1–3)
- The disciples (21:1–2): There are seven there, including Peter, Thomas, Nathanael, James, and John.
- The decision (21:3) : They decide to go fishing but catch nothing all night.
Part 2 THE FISHER OF MEN ON THE SHORE (21:4–25)
- The call (21:4–5): Standing there, unrecognized, Jesus calls out, asking if they have caught any fish. They reply that they have not.
- The command (21:6a): He tells them to throw their net on the right-hand side of the boat.
- The catch (21:6b): Immediately the net is filled with fish!
- The comprehension (21:7) : Peter suddenly recognizes Jesus and begins swimming toward him.
- The coals (21:8–9): When all the disciples arrive, they find fish frying over a fire and some bread.
- The count (21:10–11): There are 153 large fish in the net!
- The communion (21:12–14): Jesus now invites all seven to breakfast and personally serves them!

Application
- The appearance of the risen Lord is historical fact.
- Though dissapointed, we can still be assured of God's will for our lives.
- God revealed Himself as a result of our obedience.
- Dissapointment and discouragement should not lead to disavowment.
- Disciples recognize the guidance of their Lord.
- God appears to us, evidenced by His preparation and provision.
