When did Lincoln die?
He was born on May 10, 1838 in Maryland. Throughout his childhood he was very involved in theater and eventually joined the Shakespearean Stock Company in Richmond, Virgina. Through the American Civil War he continued performing as an actor. From the beginning of Lincoln's term he developed a strong hatred for him and was very outspoken for his advocacy of slavery. Booth died April 26, 1865 at the age of 25 by Boston Corbett who claimed Booth was aiming his pistol at him. In return Corbett shot him with a revolver and severed his spine.

The Hunt for John Wilkes Booth will now begin...
On the evening of April 14, 1865, while attending a performance of the comedy, "Our American Cousin," President Abraham Lincoln was shot. John Wilkes Booth, the murderer, put down the gun and flashed a dagger. Rathbone leapt at the attacker, forcing him to the railing despite being stabbed in the arm. Booth leaped off the balcony, his left boot spur catching on a flag thrown over the rail, breaking a bone in his leg as he landed. Despite being hurt, he hurried out the back door and rode out into the darkness.
Lincoln was pronounced dead at 7:22 am on April 15, 1865, age 56
