Subtopics
Let's Practice!
I went to the Circle K.
I went to the snack counter.
I bought some Jagariko.
Speed
Naturally we unconciously get faster as we get louder and vice versa.
However, a skilled orator is able to manipulate speed in way that explains the direction of the story.
E
Many use speed to show the beginning and end of a paragraph.
Let's Practice
It will say, "You can only reach so high." "You are not supposed to do that." " You can't be the person you know you are inside."
Let's Practice
Rhythm
Having good rhythm can give a speech good fengshue.
Choosing patterns of similar sentences can add a strong rhythm to a speech.
Utilising the Rule of Three and Repetion (Conduplicatio) makes this much easier.
Finally, Alliteration.
Rule of Three (S.P)
Using the same grammatical structure three times for effect.
Ex.
Rule of Three (S.P)
a. I was scared, but I couldn't go home. I had so much homework for me to do, but I didn't have enough time to do it. I had to keep working, but I couldn't keep my eyes open.
Rule of Three (S.P.2)
Using a combination of two simple sentences followed by a compound or vice versa.
Rule of Three (S.P.2)
Ex. I was tense. I was scared. I was a man who had seen the horrible sounds of La Bamba playing in the dead of the night.
Repetition (Conduplucatio)
Using the same word or phrase, often at the beginning of a series of sentences or phrases
Repetition (Conduplucatio)
Utilisation
Use the 3 I'd Monster for paragraph writing.
In the Illustration (I #2) use the rule of three with a hint of conduplucatio.
Scan the other eyes for chances to use the rule of three or alliteration.
Plan out volume and speed.
How to be
Successful!
Ex. I want to be an electrical engineer. An engineer can earn a stable income. An engineer can work nice hours, and an engineer can bring new meaning to the electric slide. If I become an electrical engineer I can engineer a grand pathway for me, my family and my community.
