To do an Em place your middle finger on the top second string and your ring finger on the top third string. Remember to keep both fingers in the second fret. Then strum all 6 strings.

To do an Am place your index finger on the second bottom string in the first fret. Then place your ring finger on the bottom third string in the second fret and place your middle finger on the bottom fourth string in the second fret. Strum every string except for the top string.
