The Mountains can be near Country boundries. Mountains can be in the water. They can be in the water too. Mountans can be in warm and cold places. Ecosystem: Are living and non-living objects that work together in an area.
Mountains form from tectonic plates. Every year Mt. Everest grows one inch from the plates under it. But now since the global tempeture is rising the mountain is starting to shrink because the snow and ice is melting.

About animals
Caribou:
Caribou live in the mountains and their nick name is reindeer.
The Mt. Everest Pika:
A relative of the hare is a Pika. It makes it's home 20,100 ft up in the Himalayas.
Bar-Headed Geese:
Among the higest flying birds this one migrates over Mt Everest.
Mountains are shrinking because the global tempetures are rising! That means glaciers can begin to melt. The good side of that is it turns into water and then we can clean it and have more water. We would clean it so the countries that have a small amount or no water can have clean water.
The problem is that, glaciers are melting. The Glacier National Park was set up in 1910. So many glaciers have melted, so now they only cover one quater of the area they once covered. If glaciers continue to melt the Glacier National Park can be known as the No-Glacier National Park by 2030.
This problem about glaciers can relate to mountain ecosytems because mountains have snow and ice on them so when it starts to melt, the animals will start to move up the mountain and they will have more space to live. But the Chiru antolope habitat is the highest on the mountain, it might run out of mountain.

Producer vs. Concumer
Producer:
A producer is an organizam and so is a consumer. A producer is an orginizam that makes it's own food. A producer is generaly a plant. The plant makes it's own food, that is also known as phototsynthesis.
Consumer:
A consumer is an organizim, that obtains it's food. Most of the time consumers are animals. Many types of bacteria are not concidered a consumer. They're concidered producers.

2,000,000 (two billion) people rely on mountains for food. Mountains have hydroelectricity, wood or timber, and mineral resources.
