Quote: Overthinking: The art of creating problems that weren’t even there
Theme Statement: Overthinking is a self caused state of being mentally paralyzed and can be overcome by taking action.

Inner thought: Can I really do this? Will others judge me?
Dalhousie Station: Where would I go when I get there? I'm going to get lost.
Ticket venders: What happens if I take too long, will others in line think I can't count?
Ctrain: Is there a rule that I need to go to board at the back of the train?
What if I want to sit but I have to share with another person? Will they dislike me?
Would it be better to let others get on first? Do I hold the doors if someone is running late?
What if there are too many people... Do I wait for the next or do I get on anyway?
It would be awkward and crowded, but I'll blend in...
Then what happens if I press the stop button too early or too late? Would I miss my stop? I'll just have to walk a little more.
Bus doors: I will be fine. I'll never know if I never try.
I'll take it from square one.
The meaning of my theme is that overthinking brings no benifets and clearly wastes time on worrying about irrashional things. In order to break the cycle, you must take actioin despite your worries. In most cases, doing so will stop the downward spiral of negative thoughts.
I took pictures of different situations using public transportation because I personally overthought it as well. After taking the bus around Calgary, I realized I had nothing to worry about and all I had to do was to ask questions. Instead of using captions to describe what was in the picture, I used them to express the thoughts of myself overthinking. This way its easier for the veiwer to understand the photos. The order of photos also follows how I get to school everyday.
I feel my Visual Essay is effective at communicating my theme because it is almost told like a story. The first few photos have captions that are only concerned with worrying. As the presentation progresses, there is less worry and more self reassuring thoughts. At pictures 10 and 11, I break the cycle by taking action (pushing on the door) and decide to start at the bus stop.
