Integers
Integers
Integers are regular numbers such as:
4,5,6,7,8,-4,-5,-6,-7,-8
There are different ways to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers
We will talk about all of the different ways to do this
Adding integers is as easy as regular adding.
Mainly because it is regular adding!
Here's some examples: 3+1, 8+7, 9+8
You can add negative integers too. All you have to do is add them like positive integers.
Ex.: -7+-8, -5+-5, -9+-4
How do you add a negative integer to a positive integer?
This is pretty easy too.
Just do it like this: -9+7 = 9-7= 2
Then the sum has the same sign as the bigger number.
Subtracting Integers
Subtracting integers is also very easy. Just as adding same sign integers had been.
Some examples of subtracting same sign integers:
4-3, 9-8, 8-4, 7-2
Subtacting negative integers is a little different than the positives. When you subtract negative integers you have to use keep, change, and flip.
Like this: -7-(-5) = -7+5
