My father moved to Canada in 1992 with my uncle, 2 years after my grandparents moved to Toronto. However, my father later moved back to Hong Kong in 1997. This event impacted my childhood life in Hong Kong and later moved to Canada. Living in another country also affects our worldviews and perspectives. This event was impactful for my family because it shapes my family's heritage as being different from many other families.
It was the first time I took a plane, and I flew to Canada, the other side of the earth. I was just 17 and your uncle was 12.

The lockdown of the global pandemic had affected many people across the globe, including my family. For my family, the pandemic has separated us from many other friends and relatives. The lockdown also shaped a new value for my family to plan ahead for uncertainties and to be patient with changes.
Medical masks were not common accessories for Canadians before the pandemic and many people refused to wear them. Mask is a very symbolic object for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mask is now an ordinary thing many
people would wear because of the
mandates during the lockdown.
These two events have shaped my unique family history and made it different. I wish to contribute to more important events with my family to progress. Thank you for watching!
