Odyssey Of The Mind
What OM is
Odyssey of the mind is a world wide club, K- College.
This club is meant to get members to think outside of the box useing creative problem solving.
OM is meant to help teach originality, and team work.
The team members are the only ones allowed to work on the problems, if you have help from others that is called oustide asistance which is not allowed. Allso Teams perform at regionals, states, and some can even go to worlds.

In Long-Term you are given a choice between seven problems, you will have to complete one.
some problems are skits, some are enegineering, and some are building.
All of the choices are open ended problems which means there is many different solutions for each problem.
Long-Term is the longest problem but it isn't the only problem to solve.

Spontaneous
spontaneous
spontaneous has three parts, Verbal, hands on, hands on verbal.
Verbal is when you are asked a question like name things that are hot, then you have to think of a creative answer for that question.
There are two types of hands on, the first is when you are handed a couple of objects that you need to figure out what they could be used for. A example is you are handed a spoon,stick, and rubber band then asked to build a catapult with them.
Another example is that you could be handed one object like a stick then asked what it could be used for.
Verbal hands on is when you are given objects and then you have to build something and then explain what it could be used for.

You will be given a team copy. everything you need to do will be on it. you will be doing a Hands on Verbal problem, it is called natural disasters.
You wil be given items in a bag that can help you in natural disaster. now I will read the team copy.
