Poseidon was one of the Twelve Olympians he was god of the sea (and of water generally), earthquakes, and horses. The Name Poseidon means either “husband of the earth” or “lord of the earth.”
Poseidon was the son of Cronus and Rhea, both Titans. Cronus lived in fear after a prophecy told him that one of his children would overthrow him. When Poseidon was born he was fully grown and after his birth, Cronus swallowed him.
Poseidon possesses the power to manipulate water, storms, and lightning, able to create strong waves and violent storms to bring the rage of the ocean upon those who anger him.
