Some guns used during the battle were the Mle hotchkiss machine gun, Lee-Enfeild rifle and, the Gewehr 98 rifle.

The 75mm feild gun was very powerful bombardment device against the enemy. 75mm feild gun was used to fire into enemy trenches as well as destroy armored targets.

The Renault FT light tank, also known as the FT-17 was a french tank used on the front line. It was either equipted with a Puteaux SA 18 37 mm short-barreled gun or a coaxial Hotchkiss 7.92mm machine gun.

Led by general Erich Ludendorff, the german army planned to split the French forces and capture Riems. During the attack the Germans attemped to cross the Marne river, they were only able to make it a few miles though before being pushed back.

After the Second Battle of Marne, the German military would never again be on the offensive, and despite a series of defenses, they formally surrendered on November 11, 1918, ending World War I.

German forces attempted to take the Riem cathedral. But The attack failed when an Allies counterattacked at the Marne river. After only 4 days, the Germans tried to retreat, but were unable to due to Allied attacks.
