Who is Gregory Blaxland?

Gregory Blaxland was born in England on the 17 of June 1778 at Forwitch and was a famer in England.Gregory had one older bother called John Blaxland, he was a famer as well. In 1799 Gregory got married to Elizabeth Spurdon. They had five sons and two daghters, Gregory was a free settler in Australia.

Where did they go?

Gregory Balxland, Wentworth & Lawson went to the Blue Mountains in 1813. They took 3 convicts, a man that kill kangaroos (his name is James Burns), they took 4 horses and 5 dogs also 6 weeks of food supplies and tools for cutting.

What problems did they face?

Gregory and his friends and the horses travelled across the land. The horses fell because of the dew on the ground and because of the heavy loads they were carrying. They were forced to spend the nights sitting in the darkness with a campfire so they would not get killed be the Aboriginals.
