Current Legislation of the 117th Congress

Midertms Election 2022 Results

What is one piece of legislation that has been proposed and what would this bill do?

Bill H.R. 1808 has been proposed and this bill would make it illegal to sell, import, manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon or large capacity ammunition feeding device.

What is your personal feeling on the passing of this bill? I personally would like it if this bill passed because I think it could really reduce the amount of mass shootings, and it could make people feel safer when going out and doing things in public that they should already feel safe doing. Even if it doesn’t end up reducing the amount of mass shootings, I think it is worth a try because mass shootings are overly prevalent in our country and need to be put to a stop somehow.

What party won the House of Representatives? Include the final numbers. The Republican party won the House of Representatives. There are now 220 republican representatives and 213 democratic representatives. The democrats lost 9 seats while the republicans gained 8.

What party won the Senate? Include the final numbers. The Republican party won the Senate. There are now 49 republican senators and 48 democratic senators. The democrats gained 1 seat while the republicans lost 1.

Did Biden Pass His Midterms? Why or why not? Biden did not pass his midterms because Republicans now have control of both the House and the Senate, which means that his plans will now most likely not come to fruition.
