I'm most proud of my culture. I am a Mexican-American. I love that I can speak a different language that most Americans cannot. I choose to represent myself as a proud Latina. Another bid part of my life has always been music. My culture always seems to base itself on music by creating both traditional and party dances that we all love and cherish.
I feel that my generation is one of the most powerful and influential there is. We use out platforms on social media to spread awareness and to make changes. We have used TikTok to even sabotage Trump's rally. We are able to accomplish so much because we choose to stand together in our shared beliefs. I truly feel that Gen Z can change the world.
My parents were both born and raised in Mexico so they have no affiliations with American politics but they have taught me to think about what is the best for me. I have learned to favor follow what I think is right. Our Hispanic traditions seem to slowly fade when it comes to their ideals because if I am being honest, they are mostly racism and sexist. My generations will change our traditions and customs to fit our new ideals of freedom and equality for all.
I am very Liberal and a Democrat. My ideals are to protect the rights of everyone even if it means having to make certain changes. I am personally pro-life but I believe every other women can choose for themselves what they do to their own bodies. I believe people should be able to love whoever they please so I am very on board with gay rights and marriage. I think the role of the government is to intervene when they see fit but to also help those in need in whatever way they can.
I believe Healthcare should be free as well as free college education. If were are to develop more as a nation, these things should be provided as a necessity for prosperity and growth. The government should regulate businesses and such more so that the global warming and climate change topic is acknowledged and being taken care of.
I am the first generation Mexican-American in my family, as well as my sister. It has always been in my head that it is up to us to make our future better for family but I am rather different now than what was expected. I am kind of the rebel in the family, I am agnostic while everyone else is Catholic. I am the youngest, being 17, so that means I get taken care of most of the time but I'm not sure for how long seeing as I am the black sheep here; the different one.
My future occupation is to be a early childhood professional which is not the best idea i my family's eyes. My dad would have preferred me to be a doctor or a scientist. I have decided that this is my life and I will choose what I do with it. I will no longer follow my family's orders when it has to do with my future and who I truly am.
What motivates me is that fact that one day I will get praise from my parents for trying my best even if it wasn't what they wanted. They will have to see that I have made a life for myself, one which has no regrets. I will have a family of my own and have my dream job.
Strong influences in my life have been my friends. Everyone is so different, it helps me understand the importance of our differences. My motivations include making people laugh and be comfortable with me I enjoy being the center of a conversation. Having people listen to me and enjoy my company really makes me want to continue and have fun. Some of my values include having close connections with people, especially my mom and best friends. Overall, I believe in finding those you truly connect with and sticking by them.
