Europeans explored Nicaragua in 1522 by Gill Gonzalez de Avila . The next year 1523 when the Spanish came leading with Leon and Granada. The native people were then forced to start working, which started conflict. Then in 1838 Nicaragua became completly independent, because in 1821 part of Central America Broke off of the Spanish control.
Nicaragua began a long Guerilla war in 1961.In 1972 Managua was struck by a severe earthquake.
