Map for a Democratic Classroom

Greta Hansen

Definition

A democratic classroom is a space in which students can choose how they will learn and what they want to learn. Classroom policies are decided in an open discussion and decided by the students and teachers together. The classroom should feel like a safe space so students feel comfortable speaking their minds and sharing their ideas.
