The different BBFC catagories
What BBFC classification is
Films are rated differently demanding on what content is in them like sex references violence. they are graded of the BBFC guidelines films in the UK are graded a U, PG, 12A, 12, 1 or 18.

Universal
Characteristics of U Films
the U rated film is the lowest grading on the BBFC scale. U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over, although it is hard to know what will upset child.
U films should be set within a positive framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence.
there should be no drugs or violence in the film unless it is sending out a clear message against it.
PG
Parental Guidance
Characteristics of PG Films
some scenes in a PG may be unsuitable for young children. PG films should not scare or unsettle a child that is eight or olde.
There are no actual rules or regulations saying that any Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset them.
very mild language is allowed but no very strong language there can be no drug references unless it carries a strong anti drug message . mild violence is allowed but can not go into great detail. nudity is allowed but with no sexual content.
12A/12
12A
Characteristics of 12/12A films
Films classified 12A and videos classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult as it is there resposibility then to make the decition to if there chld is sensable and mature enough to watch it.
In 12/12A films there should be no promotion of behaviour that is dangerouse that children could copy. there can only be mild dug uses with no spesific details. Moderate language is accepted and strong language can be used if it is necacerraly.

Characteristics of a 15 Films
No one younger than 15 may see a 15 film in a cinema. No one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video.
drug use can be shown in a fifteen but it should not be encouraged or promomoted.
imitable behaviour can be shown in a fifteen in small does this is things like self harm and sueccide but should not go into great detail or fact. Strong lanuage is allowed and very strong language i also permitted in the right contex. nudity is allowed with sexual conttent but it mist be limited. strong violance is allowed but should not go into detail and very graphic images may not be acceptede.

In 18 rated films very strong language is allowed . drug use is allowed but should not show how to make it. very strong violence is also allowed along with full nudity and sexual content.
