"Hawaii's fresh water supply and balmy climate are intimately dependent on massive systems of moving air called trade winds" (Board of Water Supply).
Hawaii has a pollution problem, where debris and litter are thrown into the ocean and end up on shore. This is really bad for the sea animals and the beaches.
Maui is a Hawaiian island with a lot of vegetation, volcanic peaks, water ways, sandy beaches & hiking trails.
Maui generally enjoys some of the best water quality on earth. Sometimes during winter storms on Maui, Molokai and Lanai water quality can be compromised temporarily by water runoff that carries excessive sediment, nutrients, and pollution called "Brown Water Events," characterized by brown-looking water. groundwater from the Iao Aquifer under the West Maui Mountains. That water is naturally filtered by lava rocks, disinfected, and sent to your home.
The lithosphere and the hydrosphere interact through their land features. For example there are streams that run through valleys.
The hydrosphere in Maui would affect the way people live. For example because there is a lot of water that people may have jobs working on the water. They also might eat different animals from the water.
Maui is a green tropical island filled with jungles, deserts, Tropical beaches, cloud forests, giant volcanoes. There are a huge number of different Microclimates on one tiny Island and this has led to a massive amount of biodiversity.
Certain vegetation types are dependent on because most of the vegetation wouldnt be able to grow without the weather and climate that they're in.
Along with all of the Hawiian islands Maui is located on the Pacific Plate. Most of the island's interior sits less than 200 feet above sea level, while each side is flanked by mountains.
Volcanoes can affect the hydrosphere through the eruption, the lava and volcanic ash could cause the air pollution also through the raining go in to the water cycle ad pollute the water as well. Also, the ocean’s water temperature will rise.
Human have affected the Island in many ways, by building on land, bringing invasive species, and mainly just ruining vegetation and taking away of the land.
