However, Language plays a significant role in creating power and privilege in society in such a way that it can be used as a tool for oppression and marginalization, as well as a means of asserting dominance and control.
Those in power may use language to manipulate and deceive others, using euphemisms or doublespeak to hide their true intentions.

Often if you do not speak the prodominant language of your respective country then you are often either seen as an outsider and not afforded the same kindness or hospitality. an example of this is, if you are in Germany and you do not speak german then people will often be very rude towards you.
Traveling all over the world, English speakers are often able to gain employment as English teachers with the only qualification being that they are native or first language speakers of English and often also that they have a college degree.
Often times if you dont speak proper english or you have a very thick accent it will chnage the way people view and treat you. If you speak english with a heavy accent people might think you arent as smart as they are.

For example, looking at the many idioms the Chinese culture has on family, you can definitely see how much they value that relationship.There are certain words in other languages that have no English translation. such as in korea “Aegyo” is someone who acts adorably to seem sweet and attractive.It’s a big cultural trend in Korea right now. Widely used as an expression of affection towards loved ones, family, and friends.
Often times when traveling english speakers dont feel the need to learn the predominant language of the country the are visiting. Instead they tend to walk around asking for directions in english. English speakers often get mad when people cant speak english and they rarely try to help them.
English has speed up the loss of traditional cultures for non-English-speaking countries and become a threat to world's cultural diversity and language ecology.
