In 1929, a man named Victor Houteff, who was a member of the adventists church, had a message in which he wrote in a book for when he was rejected and why he was kicked from the church. He left and created his own section of the Davidians and bought a plot of land west of Waco, Texas. Once Houteff died, his wife, Florence Eakin, took control and moved them towards a end of days sect where they believed the world would end in 1959.
*The Mt. Carmel Branch flag is said to have featured a stylized six-winged fiery serpent flying over a white horizon of the earth with the "Seven Seals" of Biblical prophecy lined up on that horizon in a position to trigger the Apocalypse.

Branch Davidians
The Branch Davidians are more towards the political right of the spectrum. They believed in less government overreach, and they ended up being one of the two calling cards for the other alt right radical groups. They are a religious group, and they do not overlap with the radicals.
Far Left
Members in the Branch Davidians were supposed to separate themselves from the world.
The compound had no running water, heat, or electricity, and there was Bible study 3x a day.
Women had to wear long blouses, and no makeup or jewelry could be worn. Koresh would tell the members where to sleep and what food they could eat - sugar and processed flour and dairy products were forbidden.
Disobedience was met with discipline which was constantly administered, especially to children. Everyone was also supposed to take care of the children, not just the parents, but all the adults. All marriages were also dissolved and all the women would be Koresh’s wives if he wanted them.
The Branch Davidians made headlines on February 28th, 1993, when its HQ was raided by the U.S AFT and FBI. Many civilians blamed the followers of the cult for the large fire in Waco, Texas, that resulted in many deaths.
From 1955 to 1993 was when they were most active, however, they are now no longer active after the raid to the Branch Davidian's compound. After David Koresh, the leader, died, the surviving followers did not continue the movement.
