Watercolor Techniques

Techniques:

  • Wet on wet
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Salt
  • Color on wet color
  • Crayon resist
  • Dry brush
  • Blotting

Directions:

  • Work on ONE technique at a time.
  • Complete all 7 techniques on your sheet of paper. Label each technique underneath.

Warm vs. Cool

Painting

Techniques:

  • Wet on wet
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Salt
  • Color on wet color
  • Crayon resist
  • Dry brush
  • Blotting

DIRECTIONS:

  • Choose THREE warm or THREE cool colors for your painting.
  • Choose at least FOUR watercolor techniques.
  • Completely cover your paper with paint.. no white spots!

Painting

Zentangle

Animal

  • Choose an animal
  • Draw this animal on a new piece of watercolor paper. Draw it nice and BIG
  • Outline your animal with a Sharpie marker.
  • Research different Zentangle patterns.
  • Fill your animal with Zentangle patterns.

Painting Your Animal

  • You will be painting your animal the OPPOSITE colors that you used for your first painting (the background).
  • So if you used warm colors, you will use cool colors for your animal. Or if you used cool colors first, you will now use warm colors for your animal.
