Jacob's Daughters

Carolina Stroh married carpenter Jacob Peter. She was widowed young. She lived on Laurel Street all of her life. Her widowed mother lived with her, and later her widowed daughter lived with them.

Mary Elizabeth Stroh married John Ueber and lived with and near her in-laws in a different part of New Orleans. John and his brother, Jacob, were school teachers who ran a private school on N Rampart.

Christina Stroh married carpenter John Steib. John Steib deeded the property on Laurel to his extended family where the Stroh, Peter(s), and Nielsen families later lived. After she was widowed, Christina moved in with her nephew, John F. Peters.

William's son, James, took over the management of the bakery in 1865 when William retired. James was also the 2nd mayor of Brampton, and, shortly after the Golding bakery fire, James was appointed the new fire Chief in November 1882.

Another of William's sons, William, moved to the United States, married, and had a son named William David (who went by David). When David's mother died, he was sent from New Orleans to live with his grandfather and grandmother in Brampton and was raised among William and Ann's younger children.
