Mission

By the end of the L.I.T.E. Cohort for school year 2017-2018, I will use an introduction to coding as a way to improve student reading comprehension skills, integrating ISTE standards 1 for teachers and 4 for students utilizing codecombat.com. as documented by student portfolios.

Reflection

On the Journey, I learned and implemented more than I expected due to the remarkable collaboration in the G+ community.

Measuring success

There are many websites for introduction to computer coding. After looking at several, I chose codecombat.com because it had the highest interest for my 8th grade students. In addition, I felt it was easy to read and follow the directions, set up a class, and track student progress.
