Fun Facts

Fun facts

  • No archaean species can do photosynthesis.
  • Archaea only reproduce asexually.
  • Archaea show high levels of horizontal gene transfer between lineages.
  • Many archaea live in extreme environments.
  • Unlike bacteria, no archaea produce spores.

Nanoarchaeota.

The Nanoarchaeota are a group of related Archaea that draw in close interspecies associations with mixed archaeal hosts.

Nanoarchaeota.

Eukarya

they all have a nucleus and are multi cell.and some are single cell. reproduce sexually and some asexually.

most dont move but some can run jump swim walk etc..

Protist

mostly a single cell.they have a nucleus and some have cell wall and cloroplast.they are asexual and some are sexual.

Red Algea

Red Algae

Swallow a single drop of ocean water and you'll swallow thousands of microscopic algae. There are more algae in the oceans than stars in the Universe. Algae are the base of the marine food chain: without algae, there would be no fish or any other sea animals. All plants evolved from algae.

Fungi

Fungi is a multi cell and it is Eukarotic it has a nucleus a cell wall and no chloroplast. They reproduce sexually and asexually.they are pruducers consumers and decondopsers. They have multi cells.

Yeast

  • Composition.
  • Yeast growth and processing affects its uses, appearance and purity.
  • Appearance. Active dry yeast is approximately 0.2 to 3 millimeters in diameter and spherical.
  • Flavor.

Plants

Plants are Eukariyotic and are multi celled. They have a nucleus a cell wall and a chloraplast. They reproduce sexually and are producesers.

Plant

Acer

Maple Tree

  • Maple trees are ancient.
  • it is vary radically in size.
  • Maples produce the best syrup.
  • Maples live a long time.
  • Maples suffer from disease and pests too.
  • Maples are used to make whiskey.
  • oldest tree in Virginia is a maple

Animal

  • Fleas can jump 350 times its body length.
  • Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards.
  • Crocodiles cannot stick their tongue out.
  • Starfish do not have a brain.
  • Slugs have 4 noses.
  • Only female mosquitoes bite.
  • Polar bear skin is black!
  • The only mammal capable of flight is the bat.

Fish

  • Fish are social.
  • Fish do remember things.
  • Fish are pretty smart.
  • Fish are really good communicators.
  • Fish are flexible.
  • Fish can migrate far distances.
  • fish are important to keeping ecosystems.

Clownfish

Clown Fish

  • There are around 30 known species of clownfish.
  • Clownfish live in the warm waters of sheltered reefs and shallow seas in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
  • The Clownfish is the acter Nemo in Finding Nemo
  • All clownfish are born male.

Bird

Birds have feathers, wings, lay eggs and are warm blooded.

There are around 10000 different species of birds worldwide.

The Ostrich is the largest bird in the world.

Birds have hollow bones which help them fly.

Eastern Blue Bird

Blue Birds

A bluebird can spot caterpillars and insects in tall grass at the Much distance of over 50 yards. Bluebird females of all species have flatter Feathers than males. this may reduce their eyesight to predators. Bluebirds have no blue paint in their feathers.

Reptile

reptile

  • The Reptile Family Includes: Lizards, Turtles, Alligators, Crocodiles and Snakes.
  • Every Reptile Has Scales.
  • There Are over 10,000 Reptile Species.
  • The Saltwater Crocodile Is The Heaviest Reptile.
  • The Reticulated Python Is The Longest Reptile.
  • Reptiles Are Cold-Blooded.

flat back sea Turtle

Turtle

  • Turtles live all over the world.
  • Turtles and tortoises aren't the same thing.
  • Turtles are some of the oldest animals around.
  • The largest turtles weigh more than a thousand pounds.

Mammal

Mammals are warm-blooded animals.

All mammals have hair, even dolphins and whales that live in the ocean.

Most mammals are born live, not from eggs. .

Most mammals are helpless when they are babies.

All mammal babies drink milk from their mothers.

All mammals except ant eaters have teeth.

Blue Whale

Blue whales are the largest animals ever known to have lived on Earth. These huge mammals rule the oceans at up to 100 feet long and 200 tons. Their tongues alone can weigh as much as an elephant. Their hearts as much as an automobile.

Also my favorite animal.

Amphibian

  • Most amphibians have thin, moist skin that helps them to breathe.
  • Amphibians are considered vertebrates as they have a backbone.
  • Frogs swallow their food whole.
  • Frogs cannot live in salt water.
  • All amphibians have gills, some only young and others for their entire lives.

Frog

frog

  • A group of frogs is called an army.
  • Frogs drink water through their skin.
  • Frogs are found all over the world.
  • The world's largest frog species is known as the 'Goliath frog'.
  • A frog's eyes and nose are the very top of their heads.

invertebrate

  • They do not have a backbone.
  • They are multicellular.
  • They have no cell walls, like all other animals.
  • They reproduce by two reproductive cells, or gametes, coming together to produce a new organism of their species.
  • 96% of animals are invertabrates.

butterfly

  • Butterfly wings are transparent.
  • There are almost 20,000 butterfly species.
  • Butterflies use their feet to taste.
  • Butterflies only live for a few weeks.
  • Some butterfly species migrate from the cold.

Bacteria

Bacteria come in 3 shapes,

The first shape is cocci witch is Spherical, the second shape is Baccila Witch are rod shaped, the third shape is Spirittula witch are spiral shaped

  • They're Fast.
  • You Eat It.
  • Most Are Good.
  • They Go For Light Years.
  • Discovered in 1674.
  • They're Single-Celled.
  • special Shape.
  • there tough.

spirillum

As compared to other types of bacteria, these spirally twisted bacteria are large. The wavelength of these flagella is usually more than 3 mm. As the bacterium has bipolar tufts of flagella, it can easily move at high speeds in a rotational manner.
