League of Legends (LoL), commonly referred to as League, is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. Inspired by Defense of the Ancients, a custom map for Warcraft III, Riot's founders sought to develop a stand-alone game in the same genre. Since its release in October 2009, the game has been free-to-play and is monetized through purchasable character customization. The game is available for Microsoft Windows and macOS
In the game, two teams of five players battle in player versus player combat, each team occupying and defending their half of the map. Each of the ten players controls a character, known as a "champion", with unique abilities and differing styles of play. During a match, champions become more powerful by collecting experience points, earning gold, and purchasing items to defeat the opposing team. In the game's main mode, Summoner's Rift, a team wins by pushing through to the enemy base and destroying their "Nexus", a large structure located within.
After 15 minutes either first or second team can surrender the game when every person agree.
After 20 minutes it is enough when only 4 people agree
League of Legends has a “remake” system that allows players to avoid being “punished” for having an early leaver. If a player fails to connect, or takes no action at all within the first few minutes of the game, then the match can be ended without the shorthanded team suffering a loss.
Riot Games, Inc. is an American video game developer, publisher and esports tournament organizer.

Founded in September 2006 by Brandon Beck and Marc Merill
Riot Games' founders, Brandon "Ryze" Beck and Marc "Tryndamere" Merrill, became friends while roommates at the University of Southern California, where the two studied business and bonded over video games. Beck and Merrill believed too many video game developers diverted their focus from game to game too often, distinguishing Defense of the Ancients as an indication that games could be supported and monetized long-term. They also drew inspiration from Asian video game designers who released their games for no up-front cost and instead charged for additional perks.
