Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God.
There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office. But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever.
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin... Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people.
But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.

A New Covenant
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” (Romans 8:10-12)
He takes away the first in order to establish the second. By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, (Jesus) having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,
IS A BLOOD SACRIFICE STILL BEING OFFERED FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS?
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

PSALM 51
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
(Isa.43:25)
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
(1Cor. 6:11)
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
(Heb.8:12)
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your
words and blameless in your judgment. (1 John 4:18)

We are no longer in Adam, we have been reborn in Christ.
Our old nature has been done away with (dead) and all things have become new. (alive)
We have been forgiven once, for all!
God's Spirit will never be removed.
Let us rejoice in the finished work of our high priest, Jesus Christ!
Today/This week when you sin, after confessing your sin to the Lord, refocus your thoughts on the truth of the cross and give thanks for the abundant grace He has given through Jesus Christ.
